In Columbus’ tracks tomorrow!

Baracoa was the first capital of Cuba, and is also dubbed “Ciudad Primada” which translates to “first city”.

It is said, that it was Baracoa, where Christopher Columbus landed on his first venture to America. This is said, due to the fact, that the descriptions provided by Columbus make this conclusion quite a logical one. Thus, it may have been Baracoa, where Columbus reached land on October the 28th, 1492.

However, tomorrow a new band of heroes will set foot on Baracoa! These heroes are Jákup, Jógvan, Isaac, and Niclas. Only 100 nautical miles remain, before they reach their destination. Only 100 nautical miles between them and writing history. The crew are excited to reach Cuba, and are looking forward to meeting the ones who have travelled far to greet them.

The smell of mojitos becomes stronger with each stroke of the oars in the sea. Currently the crew is experiencing tailwins which, while sweeping the smell of mojitos away from them, is also making the final stretch easier to row.

However, the crew is planning to move forward with their journey as soon as possible. This means that they will be moving on swiftly after only stopping for two to ten days. Their next stop is Key West, Miami, United States.

We are excited about the big day tomorrow!
